A snippet of curiosity

An incredible amount of things have been happening, from up-and-close with ELLE editors at my school to existential epiphanies about the rest of my life's work. Working through them right now is like driving a tank through the mud. It's both very exciting and very frustrating!

I swear I'm going to utilize this blog more in light of some of these things.

Side-note- got the photo! Here is the crocheted wire dress I worked on at my internship with Sue Freda! Here debuting in New York City during fashion week.

But in the meantime, here's a little refreshing post from Gala's latest idea, Curious Tuesday!

It's tres simple- just comment with your answers to the following questions! It's a fabulous way to get to know my readers & each other, and share some laughs :)

1. What is the strangest compliment you’ve ever received?
2. What’s your little-known talent?
3. What do you obsessively search for on eBay?
4. When you were a child, who did you worship & want to be like?
5. What was your palate band? A.k.a. the band that got you off the Top 20 on the radio and opened up the music world for the first time!

Do share! My own answers are in the comments :)

Love,
Tee

1) Strangest compliment?
So one day, I'm waiting at a stoplight in New York, and this guy I don’t know is waiting beside me. A hobo comes up, does a double-take, and asks if we’re together.

Me/the guy: Um, no…

Hobo: Oh! Damn! I was gonna say, you guys are gonna make some beautiful babies! * walks off *

2) Little-known talent?
Coming up with exceptionally professional/diplomatic/correct ways to say things in the most casual of situations! Things that you read in books and don’t typically verbalize… I sometimes sound absurdly old-fashioned for my age (19).

3)Ebay scourging.
Comme Des Garcons/Junya Watanabe clothes, though I’m not alone in this search! Also, a cheap professional sewing serger.

4)Childhood hero.
Anne Shirley of Green Gables. In middle school it developed into Scarlett O’Hara from Gone With The Wind.

5)Palate band?
Something Corporate, absolutely. I still cite them as my favorite band, even though they no longer define my world as they once did. I actually just attended a Jack's Mannequin (side project of the main singer, Andrew McMahon) concert the other night, which was incredibly inspirational and reminded me of why I fell in love with this music in the first place!

I did this on iCiNG, too, but there's nothing wrong with a repeat, right?

1) "You have very clean ears." (One of my exes)

2) Trick bull-whiping!

3) Magic: The Gathering cards (guilty pleasure...

4) Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft or Dylan in Charlie's Angels

5) The song "People are Strange" by the Doors encouraged my to buy their "Strange Days" album and really got me going with 60s and 70s rock and roll.

1.) strangest compliment

I can't remember. It probably was a joke. Tammy called me a pregnant seel. which is a pokemon. Ha which isn't even a compliment.

2.) Little Known talent

I can smash badminton birdies so hard at unwary opponents that they run away from the birdie screaming.

I have very strong arms for a small asian girl.

I can pokemon battle like nobody's business. But I can prolly never beat WC#2. I would make a very good lesbian.

I am amazing at Mathematical proofs.

3.) I dont even use Ebay. But maybe cameras or camera equipment. I use craigslist more; concert tickets, and cameras. yay! cameras!

4.) I worshipped ash ketchum and sailor moon.
Also Michelle Kwon. or Tessa Zeng if I knew her back then. hmmm

5.) BRIGHT EYES.

1.
I once got a compliment for the shape of my arm. That was weird.

2.
I'm a great cook (when I can be bothered...).

3.
Marni wedges from a few seasons back. I never find the ones I want in the right colour and size.

4.
I wasn't really a child by then, but I remember I was a big fan of Dana Scully.

5.
Must've been Metalllica. Sure, they've been played on the radio a lot, but they were the band that took me from pop to rock/metal.

I don't often do these kinds of quizzes, but why not...

1. What is the strangest compliment you’ve ever received?
I was one told I was perky, it was the first time I felt pretty. My reaction was probably more strange than the compliment itself.

2. What’s your little-known talent?
I know the words to almost every pop song, ever.

3. What do you obsessively search for on eBay?
Shoes. I got my docs for 13 quid.

4. When you were a child, who did you worship & want to be like?
A girl who I went to Guides with. She was beautiful and tough all at once, adventurous and elegant.

5. What was your palate band? A.k.a. the band that got you off the Top 20 on the radio and opened up the music world for the first time!
Foo Fighters I guess.. though some would argue they are too mainstream to be considered palate, but they were played on the sort of stations I listened to as a teen.. they opened my eyes to the fact that bands existed beyond the magazines I read and radio stations I heard.

Haha, it's great to hear back from you guys. Your compliments sure are strange!

Those of you dropping by the blog for the first time- welcome! I apologize for the lack of posts lately, but will hopefully be going in a revamped direction soon and get things off the ground!

thanks for your comment! I study animation and illustration at a small school in NY state (not NYC lol but a little town.) I'd tell you what school it is, but I'm really a stickler about internet identity, and I'm afraid if I leave it in a comment some creeper might use it to stalk me lol. what about yourself?

As we know need is the mother of any invention which goes level ahead into curiousity. Same is happening in this COVID treatment at home is the demand to avoid any uncertainty. Syringe pump manufacturers.
